MASTERCLASS WITH MARÍA GUINAND AND JUNGES VOKALENSEMBLE HANNOVER

26 – 29 September 2024, Hanover

The masterclass with María Guinand explored different ways to approach the study of the score and prepare it so as to propose efficient ways of rehearsing, produce an adequate choral sound for the chosen work, correct diction and phrasing, and create a personal interpretation that conveys the essence and message of the music. The emphasis was on the music of Spanish and Latin American composers from the 16th, 20th and 21st centuries.

Elements of choral conducting technique and body expression were essential in this masterclass, since María Guinand gives much emphasis on a clear and expressive gestural communication with the choir, always seeking to connect the personality of the conductor with the voices of the singers. A concert in Hanover with Junges Vokalensemble Hannover, led by the participants themselves, concluded the masterclass on sunday (29 September).
