This is a workshop for everyone who loves to sing in Swedish – and those who are curious about it. Singer Janna Vettergren will work with participants on the details of the sung Swedish language and how to teach them to a choir. Blending the Swedish vowel sounds will help the intonation and enhance the beauty of the harmonics. Together, the workshop group can practice Swedish pronunciation by singing from the new Anthology of Swedish choral music from the publishers Gehrmans, Ejeby and Wessmans. 

Another opportunity to listen to songs from the new anthology is the concert of the renowned Gustaf Sjökvists Kammakör “The Sanctuary Mass – a Celebration of Swedish Choral Music” on Saturday, 3 October at 9pm at Thomaskirche. More information

Janna Vettergren

Janna Vettergren ist eine begeisterte Liebhaberin der Chormusik und eine treibende Kraft im Musikleben ihrer Heimatstadt Stockholm. Als Mezzosopranistin tritt sie mit den großen Orchestern in Schweden und Norwegen auf. Sie ist Mitglied des Vokalensembles VoNo sowie langjährige Gastsängerin in den führenden nordischen Chören wie dem Schwedischen Rundfunkchor, dem Norwegischen Solist:innenchor und dem Eric Ericsons Kammarkör. Sie studierte Sprachen, Literatur, Musikwissenschaft, Pädagogik und Gesang und hat sich zum Ziel gesetzt, all diese Leidenschaften in ihrem Berufsleben zu vereinen. Sie leitet die Kommunikations- und Marketingabteilung beim schwedischen Verlag Gehrmans, der sich auf Vokalmusik spezialisiert hat.
